ReFrame: Graffiti as Dialogue 2 - iHuman Youth Society

As an organization that serves as a connecting point between Edmonton’s vulnerable youth and the larger Edmonton community, iHuman brings youth and community members together in free public workshops to explore how an art form that is in many cases viewed solely as a tool for vandalism can be used to enhance community dialogue and beautify this city through a pop-up free wall.

Wednesday June 28: K Callihoo (Mohawk) of Michel First Nation (Treaty 6) works with and for the community. His art practice includes working in airbrush, carving, mask making and graffiti art. In this workshop, he will lead youth in an extension of the Cree Dictionary Project and send a strong message by addressing audiences with language and strong political imagery.
