Heidi F Taylor uses flora as a conceptual vehicle to portray nature’s life cycles and transitions. Taylor depicts the Amaryllis transforming from dormant bulb to full bloom in delicate watercolours. Drawing from her own spirituality Taylor takes inspiration from American artist Georgia O’Keefe’s spiritual handling of flora.
Heidi F Taylor has participated in several exhibitions and venues including the ACACA zone and Alberta wide juried shows. In 2002 the artist was a recipient of the Lillian Nunn Scholarship and the Harry Wohlfarth Award in 2012. Heidi’s studies have culminated in her graduating with Distinction from the Visual Arts Certificate Program, at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Extension.
A quote from Michelangelo in his 87th year expresses the artist’s heart best- “I am still learning”.
