Application Requirements
Before submitting your application for The Works Art & Design Festival’s Major Project and Artist Exhibition streams, please review the following information requirements carefully. We recommend preparing all necessary materials in advance. Be sure to leave yourself enough time to complete the application thoroughly.

Curriculum Vitae of all artist(s) and/or curators
An artist’s/curator’s CV should list any previous experience relevant to presenting your project. This can include previous exhibitions, workshops, performances, as well as education and relevant work experience, publications, residencies, grants or awards. CVs are typically written in point-form and list the year and location for each item.

Artist Statement or Curator Statement
An artist's statement describes your artistic practice and should be specific to your proposed project, articulating the project’s theme, meaning or relevance. This can include the motifs that your artwork explores, why these themes are important to you, how you address them in your work, and how your work is intended to impact viewers.
Project Description
A project description should describe all the concrete elements of a proposed project, including program type, title of the exhibit, mediums, number of pieces, dimensions, optimal space for display and facilities requirements, technical requirements, necessary amount of time for install and dismantle, level of required production support, etc.
Detailed Timeline
Timeline should include any logistics that need to be for your project to be presented. This can include any advance preparation, sourcing materials, a production schedule, transportation, installation and dismantle.
Complete, projected budget request
A budget should include any costs associated with creating and presenting your exhibit. Potential costs might include materials and supplies, artist fees, shipping and transportation, travel, accommodation, per diems, etc. All budgets are subject to approval by The Works and art negotiable.

For group exhibits of 2 or more, provide all relevant information for each artist.

A portfolio of 5-20 quality images of work representative of the proposed exhibit as a single PDF document. Any videos should be submitted as links to view or download. For Major Projects: You may include photos of actual works to be exhibited, drawings or sketches of the proposed project, or similar works that you have done in the past.
Include a full description with each image:

Photographer credit (if relevant)
Additional details – if the artwork will be included in your proposed exhibition, if the image is a drawing of your proposed project, if it is an example of similar past work, etc.)
