ABOUT THE EXHIBIT

Chloe’s paintings invite viewers into serene, contemplative spaces, where the dynamic interplay of light and movement creates an emotional resonance. Whether capturing the quiet solitude of a city street at dawn or the delicate vibrancy of a blooming garden, her work offers a moment of calm reflection. Integrating elements from both Korean and Western artistic traditions, Chloe’s art bridges cultures and time, emphasizing the universality of beauty found in everyday life. Now residing in Edmonton, she continues to paint, teach, and exhibit, drawing inspiration from the changing landscapes around her.

Through her work, she seeks to foster a deeper connection between the viewer and the world, encouraging moments of peace amidst the ever-moving currents of life.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Chloe Heeseok Oh is a Korean-born artist currently based in Edmonton. Her oil paintings on canvas reflect an impressionistic approach, capturing the harmony between light, color, and texture. Influenced by the Barbizon school and impressionism, Chloe’s work is rooted in a deep appreciation for natural and urban landscapes, evoking a sense of stillness and lyrical beauty. Growing up in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, where her parents ran a ranch, Chloe developed an early connection to nature. This love for the outdoors shaped her artistic journey, leading her to study Western painting in South Korea. She immersed herself in plein air painting, refining her ability

to depict the fleeting moments of light and atmosphere. Her work has been recognized through exhibitions in Seoul, Milan, and beyond, including awards from the Korean Art Competition and a showcase at the Seoul Museum of Art.
