SUPERGARDEN

Site #1

Churchill Square

11:00am-9:30pm

Gigantic flowers are arranged together to form an eccentric garden from another world. The vivid blooms shrink viewers to the scale of insects as they approach the massive forms.  Once the viewer has visited with the flower to satisfaction, they move along—carrying with them a lingering, floral memory, like sparkling dust on the antennae of a pollinator.

ARTIST STATEMENT

“I appreciate the potential for symbolism nestled within ordinary objects.

I am deeply inspired by my surroundings, both natural and manufactured. I use familiar items, recognizable features, and unique aspects of a given environment to build visual narratives in my work. I appreciate the potential for symbolism nestled within ordinary objects. Murals and public art allow me to use an exaggerated scale to give new context and interest to everyday subject matter.
