Festival Overview

What are the dates and daily hours of the festival?
The festival runs June 20 – July 1, 2026. The Churchill Square festival site is open daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00PM. 

Is admission free or ticketed?
Festival programming is completely free and open to the public.

Where is the festival held?
The main festival site is Churchill Square, with additional programming at satellite venues across central Edmonton.

Is the festival suitable for all ages?
Yes! The festival is family-friendly and suitable for all ages. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

Does the festival run rain or shine?
Yes, the festival runs rain or shine, except in the case of extreme weather events that may impact safety.

I’ve been getting emails asking me to send money. Is this The Works?
No! There has been scam/phishing emails circulating recently using The Works name. If you receive an email asking for money, or if you’re ever unsure, please reach out to us via email, or call 780.426.2122.

Accessibility & Amenities

Is the festival site wheelchair accessible?
Most public spaces at Churchill Square and partner venues are accessible. For specific needs, feel free to contact us directly.

Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets are allowed on the festival’s main site. However, we discourage bringing pets to the patio area due to heat and noise.

Are there public washrooms?
Yes, there will be Porta-Potties in our patio area, as well as access to public washrooms managed by the City of Edmonton.

Is there food and drink at the festival?
Yes! Food trucks and a licensed, all-ages patio will be available onsite throughout the festival.

What should I bring with me?
Bring your curiosity and creativity! We also recommend comfortable shoes, sun protection, a reusable water bottle, and weather-appropriate clothing.

Will there be access to languages other than English?
Yes! All members of our staff are trained in very basic ASL and finger spelling. Additionally, select members of our staff on site will speak French, and ASL fluently.

Getting to the Festival

How do I get to the festival?
Due to construction and limited parking, we recommend using public transportation. Churchill Square is accessible by LRT (Churchill Station) and major bus routes. Plan Your Trip with ETS

Is parking available?
Paid parking is available downtown and around Churchill Square.

Programs & Activities

What kinds of exhibits and installations can I expect?
More than 200 visual artists will present work—from intimate pieces to major site-specific and large-scale installations.

Are there workshops or hands-on activities?
Yes! The festival includes daily workshops, guided tours, live music, and more.

Are there guided tours or artist talks?
Yes! Guided exhibit tours run daily. Check out the festival schedule for more details.
