Yevheniia Vasylkova

Yevheniia Vasylkova is a Ukrainian queer visual artist and arts instructor currently  

based in Airdrie, Alberta. Yev’s artwork explores themes of displacement, identity, and  

mental health, using them as catalysts to investigate the healing potential of artistic  

expression, community, and nature. 

Working primarily in watercolour, alongside collage and interactive media, she creates work that encourages reflection, dialogue, and connection. Her practice often extends into community-focused workshops and collaborative projects, where she engages diverse audiences in conversations around creativity as a tool for resilience and well-being. 

Yevheniia holds a background in graphic design and visual communication, which continues to inform her approach to composition and storytelling. She transitioned to a full-time art practice in 2025 after several years working as a designer and marketing specialist.
