Raha Jazayeri

Raha Jazayeri is a Calgary-based realist painter originally from Tehran, Iran. She has been dedicated to painting since childhood and has over 20 years of experience working with various mediums, particularly oil and pastel. Although she studied pharmacy and worked in the field for many years, her commitment to art remained constant, leading her to fully pursue her artistic career. 

Raha further developed her practice at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, Italy, where she trained in classical realism. Her work is influenced by the techniques and traditions of Old Master painters, with a strong focus on observation, light, and form.  

Since moving to Canada, Raha’s work has expanded to include landscapes inspired by her new environment. She is currently developing a body of work titled Calgary in Bloom, focusing on moments of bloom that emerge after long, harsh winters—reflecting resilience, renewal, and the quiet strength of nature. 

She has exhibited internationally. In 2025, she received an Honorable Mention from the Society of Canadian Artists. One of her paintings is part of the collection of the Museu Europeu d’Art Moderno (MEAM) in Barcelona.
