Katia Youssef

Curatorial Intern (2022, 2025)

Katia Youssef, located in Edmonton, Alberta, was a Curatorial Assistant for The Works Arts & Design Festival. A recent graduate from the University of Alberta, Katia completed a Bachelor of Arts with First Class Honours, double majoring in History of Art, Design, & Visual Culture and Modern Languages & Cultural Studies. She received the Dr John MacDonald Medal in Arts for her academic standing. Deeply interested in research, Katia wrote her undergraduate honours thesis on an indigenous pictorial manuscript called the Lienzo de Tlaxcala. Katia is a curious and enthusiastic person who is always looking to learn more about culture, art, science, and the world. She spent a semester abroad at the Autonomous University of Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain, and completed both a Community Engagement & Service-Learning Certificate and a Certificate in International Learning. Passionate about all things space, Katia spends her free time reading astrophysics books and looking at the planets and stars through her telescope. This upcoming fall, she will be going back to University of Alberta to study Engineering.
